Dr Sarita Singh is a Consultant Dermatologist at Chelsea and Westminster and the Royal Brompton Hospitals, London. She graduated from King’s College London School of Medicine with a number of academic awards. Dr Singh trained in Dermatology at University College London Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Dr Singh was granted a two year Research Fellowship to undertake an MD on melanoma at the Royal Marsden and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, Imperial College London. She has presented her research nationally and internationally and was a co-recipient of the prestigious Everett C. Fox Award for the most outstanding laboratory research presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Resident’s symposium. She is research lead for the Dermatology department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Dr Singh’s main clinical and research interests are in skin cancer, hair and nail disorders and inflammatory skin diseases. She set up the specialist Hair clinic at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, one of the few dedicated services in the UK. She also runs the specialist cutaneous sarcoidosis service at The Royal Brompton Hospital.
Dr Singh teaches medical students, Dermatology trainees, GPs and allied health professionals. She is Chair of the British Society of Geriatric Dermatology, a special interest group of the British Association of Dermatologists that aims to stimulate interest in the skin of the elderly and promote the topic as a subject for postgraduate training. She reviews care pathways and patient information for Map of Medicine and NHS Choices.
Dr Manuraj Singh is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist at St Georges University Hospital London. He graduated from King’s College London School of Medicine as one of the top students in his year, having won many academic distinctions and prizes. He was Proxime accessit to the University of London Gold Medal and was awarded the prestigious Jelf Medal, as the student who most distinguished himself during his undergraduate career. Dr Singh trained in Dermatology and Dermatopathology at St John's Institute of Dermatology, Barts and The London NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Singh was granted a prestigious Medical Research Council Clinical Training Research Fellowship to undertake a PhD on varicella zoster virus infection at the Centre for Cutaneous Research, Queen Mary University of London. He has presented his research nationally and internationally and was awarded a prize by the British Association of Dermatologists for the best PhD thesis.
Dr Singh’s main clinical and research interests are in skin cancer, skin infections and Dermatopathology. He runs a skin cancer clinic for immunosuppressed patients and runs the emergency Dermatology clinic, where he sees patients with severe eczema, psoriasis, drug eruptions, skin infections and blistering disorders. He also performs minor operations including skin biopsies and mole excisions.
Dr Singh has a special interest in Dermatopathology, a field that is particularly important for correct patient diagnosis and management. He has been awarded both the DipRCPath (Dermatopathology) and the ICDP-UEMS Board Certifying Examination for Special Qualification in Dermatopathology.
Dr Singh teaches medical students, dermatology trainees and GPs. He was recently awarded a “Certificate of Commendation for Excellent Teaching” at St George’s Hospital. He is an examiner for the MSc in Clinical Dermatology at Kings College London and has taught GPs for the Diploma in Dermatology at Barts and The London.
